New Beginnings, Intensive Outpatient Program at CCMC provides mental health services to older adults in Copiah and Lincoln counties who are 50 and older. We use a multi-disciplinary team approach that includes a psychiatrist, social worker, program director, activity director, nurse, mental health technician, CNA, transportation drivers, and cooks. New Beginnings provides services such as individual and group therapy, medication management, psychiatric care, and multidisciplinary diagnostic assessment, as well as free transportation, breakfast, snack, and lunch that is provided daily. Each patient is screened to determine appropriate candidacy and works closely with the social worker, nurse, and psychiatrist to determine an individualized treatment plan of care. At New Beginnings, our priority is to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. Our goal is to provide current evidence-based treatment to treat mental health symptoms and disorders such as depression, hopeless/helpless, suicidal or homicidal ideation, anxiety, worry, mood swings, adjustment issues, unresolved grief and loss, stress, and appetite and sleep disturbances. Anyone can refer themselves or someone else to New Beginnings; there does not need to be a physician’s order for a referral. Copiah County Medical Center’s Human Resources Department provides administrative support for all functions related to the management of each employee. The mission of the department is to be a strategic partner by providing Human Resources programs that attract, develop, retain, and engage a skilled and diverse workforce.
The Human Resources Department is also responsible for administering the Health Benefits, Payroll Processing, Workers Compensation and numerous other benefits for our employees. The Radiology Department of CCMC will be installing all new General Electric equipment. This will include the 1st GE Optima Xray machine in the state! The Optima 656 Xray is automatic and shows the images within 10 seconds of taking the Xray.
We are happy to offer GE Essential Digital Mammography, as well as CCMC’s premier GE Logic Ultrasound. Onsite 3 days per week will be MRI. Lastly, the CT Revolution EVO 64 Slice CT Scanner is the 2nd State of the Art CT scanner in the state of Mississippi. Our Radiology Department is leading in technology and excelling in customer service.
Teresa Harvey, RN is CCMC’s Quality Improvement Director. She is responsible for ensuring the care provided to the community complies with nationally recognized standards of practice, applicable laws, and regulations. In addition, she directs the hospital’s efforts for continual improvement as we strive for excellence.
The CardioPulmonary Department at Copiah County Medical Center works side by side with our doctors and nurses to meet our patient’s respiratory needs. Our respiratory therapists are qualified in oxygen administration, nebulizer therapy, and incentive spirometry, as well as emergency airway stabilization and arterial blood retrievals. Jeff and his staff also offer the following Outpatient procedures: Electrocardiogram (EKG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), 24-hour Holter Monitoring, and Pulmonary Function Test Spirometry.
CCMC will house a brand new spacious therapy gym with 12-foot wrap-around windows, a private treatment room, and up-to-date therapy equipment. Our goal is to provide patients with the highest quality therapy available. Our unique occupational therapy kitchen is equipped with a dishwater, coffee maker, and refrigerator, as well as upper and lower cabinetry to ensure that upon discharge home, our patients are equipped and prepared to perform any activity safely.
